Dead

Sal and I have a little route we take when we walk and it winds through a cemetery just up the road from us. It's not morbid or nothing like that, just a nice walk and the graveyard is there in our path. I've always enjoyed reading the headstones, sometimes there's a great story... fully told or just hinted at... on epitaphs.

I dunno how I missed seeing this one until just a week or so ago. It made me smile when I read it.

And oddly, my grandparents on my Dad's side are both buried in this little cemetery that is so near our house.

And of course you know what FINALLY sent ol' Henry to the great beyond. Yup, a horrible case of the Sheetz.

And this just rolls into a blog I'd like you to take a look at. Skewed View. Skewed View is written and just importantly photographed EXCELLENTLY by Rach. I dunno how many cemetery bloggers there are, maybe just Rach, doesn't matter. She's got it down. She throws in the normal blogger "daily ritual" stuff but her shots of graveyards and headstones and monuments are awesome.

Rock on.

Get it? Rock. Headstone. lol I kill myself. KILL!!

I've been to 3 funerals in the last two months and I've got to tell you that I really like looking at headstones.

Not just because some are funny, but they remind me that life is short.

There is the cemetery here in town where Abraham Lincoln is buried, and a lot of past governors, things like that...

Then there's a headstone where this guy is buried who used to sit in the cemetery and play the accordian.

His headstone is an accordian.

I love that.

I read all your posts. You don't need to come up with the perfect title to get me to read your posts.

You did it anyway, though. Cool!

:)

Nice to hear you take the time to walk with your Sweetie, too. Anne and I walked to the car, from the car to the restaurant, back to the car and back to the house tonight to celebrate our 30th!
