Here I Am!

I figured I'd better post something so's y'all wouldn't think I was deader than a hammer.

Had a great Thanksgiving, did a little shopping, mostly window shopping. Went to Guitar Center yesterday which is like Disneyland for musicians. Played 'bout half the guitars and all of the mandolins there. Way cool place. I love just watching people there, everything from beginners to pros, country/folk musicians to death metal. You're completely surrounded by music of some sort from the time you walk in the door until you walk out. Even if you don't play it's worth a trip to one of their stores just to watch and listen.

Played Wii with my son in law and Sally. I'm addicted. lol What a blast that was.

Ate more food than you can shake a bowl full of jelly at. What a feed!

Came home and had an evening of visiting and having a few drinks with my buddy Gary and his daughter Sarah and Sal yesterday evening.

Sorry I was derelict in my duties... I'll do better. :-)

Have a great week everyone!

Sorry Jace. I didn't miss you. I was in Milwaukee visiting the family and helping out here and there, in addition to eating waaayyyy too much and basically enjoying the hospitality.

Got home and found the Jack Weber Woodworking DVD and we watched it. LOL! That was great! Anne laughed and pointed out that you were all clean after routing out the waste from the mortice. LOL!

Looking forward to the next one. JC said he'd pop for that one if I sent him this one to watch. :)

Welcome back to Blogsville.

If you can play the fiddle then you're a good portion of the way to playing the mando. Same GDAE tuning, just twice as many strings and then throw in that whole fret thing. It's a little tough on the finger joints on your fingering hand. I've had quite a bit of trouble with my index finger from playing the mandolin.

Exactly how much food CAN one shake a bowl of jelly at? Because, depending on the size of the bowl, I figure you ate most of the food in our local grocery store.

I'm just sayin'.
